It has been written while the Constitutional Convention was on the brink of complete rupture one of the framers of this document became very somber. The delegates had been meeting over a month with no breakthroughs. The patients of the framers was nearly gone, and emotions was on edge. George Washington presiding over the assembly became very concerned when seeing no success. Benjamin Franklin asked to speak which was unusual because of his advanced age.
He rose and addressed the delegates and said " The small progress we have made after four or five weeks is a melancholy proof of the imperfection of the human understanding. In this situation of this Assembly, groping as it were in the dark to find a political truth and scarce able to distinguish it when it is presented to us, how has it happened Sir, that we have not once thought of humbly applying to the FATHER of lights to illuminate our understanding.
It would be one of the greatest moments in modern history if the leaders of this nation would now humble themselves and request Divine guidance and wisdom for the trials we face in the country today. After all is said and done there is a written map on how we should live and be guided individually and as a nation.
We need the Father's wisdom now more than ever. Josh. 1:8 is given by God himself for the leader to help Israel reach the promise land. Friends we are no different. God intended this nation to be great and lead the world in righteous ways. We were made great by obeying Deut.28:1 Remember Joshua he and only one other named Caleb reached the promise land because they obeyed God. God is in the restoration of anybody or any nation. Please leaders don't leave him out by trying to reach answers by human knowledge alone. He is waiting for each of us to turn to Him just as the founding Fathers . It matters not if you are a street person or the president, He is still God and will bless obedience and punish rebellion. It is written and can not be changed.

How true and well stated. I espically liked the phrase "Father of light", yep He is! He is also faithful to His Word. That never changes!
